Lately our gray water tank has started leaking when over full. I have removed the plastic underbelly pan and the insulation was water soaked. The gray water tank used to back up into the shower when it was over full but now I can see water traces running down the side from the top of the tank. I suspect the top fill pipe (from shower/sink) has broken or cracked going into the top of the tank. Has anyone ever had this problem and any advise on how to access this area?
GregWould it be possible to post some pictures? It you can reach up with your phone you may be able to snap some pictures of the top of the tank.

My coach has 2 gray tanks. One of them had this issue and was fixed under warranty, thanks to Bill Stout.Mobile tech dropped the belly pan and removed the insulation. Then, he removed the wall inside the basement. He cut the drain pipe that goes into the top of the tank. II do not know if he removed the tank from the frame, but I suspect he did, then fused the pipe back onto the top of the tank. He used a rubber hose with 2 clamps to connect the cut section of drain pipe. He used a radiator repair kit to fuse the drain pipe to the top of the tank.
According to the mobile tech, the tank deforms when it is overfilled and the deforming causes the failure. 2 previous coaches I had never had an issue with overfilling the grays. I guess these tanks are thinner or not as well supported in the frame.

I found the leak in the gray water tank. I removed the basement wall as suggested above and found a screw that had punctured through the top of the tank. Yes, when the tank gets overfilled, the tank top bludges upward and the protruding screw over time had punctured a hole in the top of the tank. In the picture, I painted the screw white and also the puncture hole.
I’m glad the tank did not require removal, the elbows are glued to the tank nipples so the pipes will have to be cut off above the elbows. This would require the 3 inlet pipes having the holes in the ¾” plywood floor enlarged to allow the elbows be lowered with the tank.
GregEdit – Thanks BW for the picture edit, great job.
