I have a Splendide washer dryer combo that is 5 or 6 years old that has worked fine (small loads) over the years. Last week the wife said “the dryer part was not drying worth a hoot”. I went outside and felt the air blowing out the dryer vent which was about enough to maybe blow a match out. I removed the cover on the outside vent to see if I could see a blockage, nope. I looked at my manual that didn’t do much good. I called Spendide and a gentleman said you have one of two things going on. First it could be the fan motor or more than likely the dryer vent is plugged inside the unit. He told me how to remove the top cover (two screws on the rear of each side). Turning the dryer on I could see where the fan was turning. He said if you look down into the top on the left side you will see a black hose about 10 inches long. This is where it plugs. Keep in mind the unit does not have a vent lint trap.

Removing an oval panel on the rear I could get to this black hose easier. You loosen and remove the lower end by loosening a metal band. The top end has a small metal plate over it that you remove and then you can push the hose down into the unit. This lets you now remove the whole rubber hose. It was full of moist lint. I cleaned this and reinstalled everything and tested it. Blows air like a mad woman.

Where there is no lint filter I decided I should once every two weeks or so just remove any clothes from the dryer, turn it on so the hot air dries any moist lint and let it run for 20 minutes to hopefully dry it out and blow any lint out.

If you have questions please feel free to ask.

On our new to us 2011 Cameo the Splendide 2000S was not drying and hot air was blowing out the fabric softener compartment. I accessed the back and removed the oval access panel like pugpug described. The exhaust hose was easy to remove and it was completely plugged. After clearing the clog it drys great now. I am thinking that an annual cleaning is best as it is so easy to do.
