Slow Awning

I like the Carefree awning that came on our Cameo, but it is the slowest awing I’ve ever had. It wouldn’t be as bad if I didn’t have to set on the doorsteps to push the button that’s located on the floor. Anyone know what the thinking was for that  Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to speed it up or move the switch?

PS, I was telling my wife that I was writing this post and she reminded me what it was like to get the awing hook out and put the awning up and down by hand.

Your better half has a point. Like you, I do feel it takes along time for the awning to come out, but when one is camping we should not be in a rush anyway.

I had the exact same thoughts. Check out the below links. The first one is from or Blog page just scroll down the page to find the Awning Switch Project listing. The second link below is where the link on our Project Page takes you.

B.W., your step-by-step instructions for moving the awning switch along with all the other projects you have is great. It won’t speed up the awning motor but it sure will make it easier to stand up and push the button.

We have a different model, so I will need to get out rig out of storage and see how to find the four wires.

I just use my foot to run the awning buttons.

Like Running_Bear said, I just sit down and rest while putting out both awnings. No hurry

        Great instructions. But I’m short.

          Traveler,

I will let you know in about a week.  I have ordered new electrical connectors.  I suspect that 10 years of corrosion have greatly reduced the current carrying capacity of these connections.
