We’ve been home about a week now after being on the road for 8 months. Cleaned out the trailer but were going to use it tonight for some family that are visiting. It’s cold and I was checking my propane, one tank was turned on and almost empty the other was off but full. I turned both tanks on and in about half-hour the gas detector was going off inside. The inside of the trailer was full of gas. Turned off the tanks, opened all the windows and door to clear it out.
It appeared to happen when I turned the full tank on, I did spray all around the regulator and tank connection didn’t find a leak or can I smell propane by the tanks. Any suggestions?
Posted: 5:27 PM – Apr 06, 2016Did u check stove burners? Oven? Are they fully off?Posted: 10:31 PM – Apr 06, 2016I did check all the things that run on propane, next I will need to check the lines.Posted: 4:48 AM – Apr 07, 2016Traveler, you did not mention that your propane alarm was making a loud noise…it should have been. On our winter trip this year one of our stove knobs was turned to the on position accidentally and the alarm went off a few minutes later. Since our Cameo is an 09 Model I have purchased a replacement alarm because for the experts say it should be changed every 5 yrs.Posted: 1:49 PM – Apr 09, 2016I have a propane detector that is powered by a nine volt battery. I have replaced both propane lines that connect the tanks to the regulator due to leaks around the green knob. It is hard to find quality connecting lines that do not leak after a few uses.

The way you had/have the tank valves set should make no difference and should not cause leaks inside or out.Posted: 6:38 PM – May 05, 2016Traveler,
Did you locate your propane leak?NatePosted: 3:30 PM – May 10, 2016warthog wrote:Traveler,
Did you locate your propane leak?NateThanks for asking
I just got around to filling the propane tank yesterday, turned the tank on and so far so good. I’m not sure what the problem was, but it seem OK now????.
I did bust the snap off the strap that holds the tank in place, need to find a replacement.
Posted: 11:07 AM – Oct 03, 2016i have had trouble with the auto switch over regulator, but gas leak/smell was outside the Cameo. Also when i filled my propane tanks one tank the check valve was stuck and wouldn’t fill until some brute force and ignorance was appliedPosted: 11:44 AM – Oct 03, 2016This is the system we installed on our last trailer and will be installing in the Cameo. We had one sensor in the kitchen and a 2nd sensor was in the fridge/heater compartment.

It will shut (with optional propane solenoid) the propane off if a leak is detected.
