We don’t camp often in weather cold enough to warrant great use of the LP furnace – usually the heat pump is fine for us. However, with the FL winters getting colder, we have had to use the furnace and I don’t mind having to do so. It does help keep the floor a little warmer. Anyway, the bedroom floor vent on our 31ksls is right beside the bed about mid-way the length of the bed. The probelm is that the floor vent is just about under the mattress platform and if the bed covers are hanging off, they can cover the vent and all the hot air accumulates which makes one very hot and wakes you up!
Well, I decided to relocate the heat vent. I left the old vent and blocked it as there was really no way to make it invisible. I purchased a new floor register and some a few residential type floor duct parts to move the vent to the foot of the bed right in front of the dresser. The airlfow is as good as it was in the original location.
So now, when the floor/lp heat is on, the person on the left side of the bed won’t get hot and have to worry about the bed covers covering the vent. Now with the vent where it is, even if the covers fall onto the floor from the foot of the bed, it won’t cover the vent. I’ll post some pix soon. It wasn’t a very hard project and it was very well worth the effort. We will get to test it out on our New Years camping trip at Anastasia Island State Park, FL, next weekend. Phillip

Here are some pix of the original floor vent beside the bed and the new location at the foot of the bed in front of the dresser. You can see the new duct in the basement running over from the original run to the new vent. Phillip
