- I’ve heard that the new LIfestyle trailers have surge protectors, but can’t see one on ours. There’s a 3-stage converter/charger unit, but no evidence there’s a surge protector.Posted: 9:47 PM – May 14, 2014If they have added this it would be production dated related. If there is one, it is probably be to the rear of the rear black wall in the main storage unit before main shore feed leads up to 120 VAC breakers.Posted: 9:53 AM – May 15, 2014thanx John, we don’t have the trailer yet so will have to wait to tear into compartment areas, but i’ll check it out. I used a Progressive hard-wired EMS on our last trailer and was going to do the same on the new Lifestyle, but have to see if there’s a surge protector already there.
MikePosted: 11:59 AM – May 15, 2014With our after market (not hard wired) surge supressor, there is a 2 minute + delay between connection and energizing the circuit. This delay is to allow A/C compressors to equalize and to stop short cycling of the power if it turns on/off in short time swings.Anyway, that may be one way to tell once you get the rig.
Posted: 2:54 PM – May 15, 2014In my list of suggestions long ago sent to Lifestyle, I suggested a surge protector be at least offered as optional. Both DRV and Excel offer one. I had the hard wired Progressive in the Cameo and transferred it over to the LS when we took delivery. Please keep us updated. Phillip
