- We have a 2012 Carriage Cameo with a Frigidare Model CMWV150KBA microwave. I was using the unit the other day when all of a sudden the exhaust fan went on and would not shut off. I had to unplug the unit. I have noticed that when the fan button is pushed the icon does go on and off. The fan will run no matter the status of the icon. I have to unplug power to silence the unit. Anyone ever have this problem? Do you know how to solve? How do you get to the fan and the control panel to check it without dismantling the entire microwave from the mount.? Where is the fan?
We are full-timers and are in the middle of “now-where” in NC near Swan Quarter without anything for miles of us.

Posted: 8:01 AM – Nov 01, 2014Thanks. A good place to start. Later today I plugged the microwave back in and the blower did not go on. I used it to heat food and reset the clock. Later, when I get brave, I will hit the exhaust fan button.Posted: 2:00 PM – Nov 01, 2014Sounds like the switch went bad. You can ways add a manual cut off switch into the circuit.Posted: 10:34 PM – Nov 01, 2014Running Bear,Were you doing anything else around the stove when the fan went on? There may be a sensor that turns the fan on. In our house, the exhaust fan would go on if there was significant heat coming off the stove (ex. during self cleaning). I haven’t seen that in the coach, but I thought it might be a possibility.

Posted: 7:23 AM – Nov 02, 2014I have the microwave/convection and there is a auto sensor that turns the fan on, if there is to much heat from the stove.Lillyputz
Posted: 9:25 AM – Nov 02, 2014The last 2 blog hit it right on the nail. I plugged the microwave on late yesterday and the fan did NOT go on. I pressed the on/off switch to the fan, and it was fine. I did manage to download the manual and in the manual it noted the heat note concerning oven is in the manual. When I called Frigidare the rep. just wanted to send a repair person. They should have known and be able to tell me about this “feature”. Because they just wanted to send repair than offer any assistance on the phone, I would not recommend a product by this company. Thanks all for your input. The unit is working fine now.
Posted: 11:31 PM – Nov 02, 2014Glad we could help. Don’t be too hard on customer service. You told them there was a problem and they offered to fix it. They COULD have thought to ask about the stove, but their training is often lacking. I only knew about the heat sensor from first hand experience.I’m happy that everything is working right.
