With the Norcold running on propane or elec. The inside of the cupboard next to the refer is so hot you can’t keep your hand on the cupboard wall or put any food in there as it will melt. refer temp fluctuates.
I removed the lower and upper air intake panels. found the wood box that seals between the lower coils and upper coils for air flow up through the coils has come apart and resting on the coils.

Insulation is cut short on the refer side of the cabinet wall ( and can’t see any on the other side) exposing the cabinet to heat and heat to the living area.

Looking at the top baffle, I notice it does not extend from cabinet wall to cabinet wall. only the width of the refer, with approx. a 2 inch gap on each side, so I called Norcold. Norcold said the baffle has to to close the top off with no gaps to draft properly and with the side draft installation a fan should have been installed to help with the draft as per Norcolds installation book.

        People. Check your refer install.

It is nerve wracking when a manufacturer fails to follow explicit instructions from a supplier. It makes me wonder what other components installed in whatever manner to keep the assembly line moving. Plumbing comes to mind. Furnace, water heater, AC ??? It is amazing that often doing right the first time takes a back seat to production time. There always seems to be enough time to correct the mistake later.

In the old days it was “do it right the first time.”. Today it is “claim quality is job one, fool half the people half the time, and if they catch up with you, go bankrupt and start over claiming quality product and quality people.
