- On our fire place in our CKSLS don’t have a remote control.
You have to get on knees to turn it on, controls are on the floor. Does any CKSLS owners have this problem.
NO I promise it hasn’t got cold where we are at, just being a good boy scout and being prepared.Re: Dimplex Website Inquiry

Dimplex did not supply a remote control with this firebox and we do not offer anything that would be compatible with this model.
Thank you,

Posted: 9:53 PM – Jul 03, 2013If there is no remote available you could use a remote control receptacle like the one in this link. The fireplace just plugs into the wall behind it so you could put this back there to control it.

I used this one for my 1 1/2 hp dust collection system in my shop and it worked great. There are some cheaper ones out there but make sure they can handle the amp rating on the fireplace. Just google remote control receptacles.

How does it work?
SmartHome.com.au’s iPhone home automation kits allow you to control anything electrical in up to 4 ways: on and off, and bright and dim (for lamps and lighting). You use your iPod touch or iPhone as a remote control, whether its within your own home over WiFi, or anywhere else over 3G.
The set up is fairly simple: you plug your existing appliance or light into a plug and play module, assign it an address, and enter that address into the provided PC software. It’s then on your iPhone, allowing you full control by simply tapping your iPhone or iPod Touch’s screen.
Using the provided software, you can also automate and schedule everything from your kettle, to the lights and lamps in your house.

Here’s some thing I looked at. Wish I could find some thing like this that I could tie it into the fire place.
This dosen’t have enough info for me to figure if some thing like this would work.

http://www.lightinthebox.com/1000wx2-wi … escriptionA remote switch like that would work if it were matched to the wattage of your fireplace. I don’t think 1000 watts is enough, more like 1300 to 1500 + watts @ 120 volts for most of the fireplaces.
