Hi my water heater works fine on propane but electric won’t work. It just quit the other day. No loose wires. Fuse is good. I turned off and on the circuit breaker and the switch outside. Reset switches do not push in. Anyone have an idea?

It might be your ” Water Heater Thermostat Switch”, you might need to replace it.

I know you said no lose wires. Do you mean on the heater itself? I have a 2014 LS36fw. This happened to me last year. Turned out to be a lose wire on the circuit breaker box which could have caused a fire. Falconhunter was monumental in guiding me to this issue! If you have not checked the breaker box, CUT THE SHORE power before doing so. Even if this is not your issue, it is a great excuse to check all the lugs in the breaker box. Good luck.

We’ve had two problems; one we had to replace the reset switches, and after having our rig in storage I turned the power on, forgetting that the power to the hot water tank was on and burned the heating element out because of no water in the tank.

Thanks. I checked wiring on heater itself. I’ll check the breaker. I’m suspecting a burnt out heating element.

Your rig is quite new, so I would remove the ‘push to reset’ cover plate, as underneath is a couple of the wires that can get pinched. We re-routed ours, and wrapped electrical tape where the metal plate had marked the insulation.

Here is a link to a great troubleshoot guide for the suburban water heater. Use it to pinpoint the problem so you don’t waste time and money. You will need a multi meter.

Turns out it was a loose wire. Lifestyle used crimping wire nuts and one failed, again. I suppose I’ll gradually replace all of them. A little tug and they come loose.
