picture looks like a valve to me! What it’s function? Can I shut off the fresh water system with it?

        2) This is the sureflo or not to flo pump(humor). Which side would I place a check valve. Also do I have to drain the water(I’M sure I do hoping I don’t)
tank it seems to take it’s time emptying.

I have same problem as every one with check valve not working got it to stop for a while but it’s back…
So need to fix it for good.

The valve looks like the one that allows you to switch from having the pump suck water from the freshwater tank to a hose that would be inserted into a antifreeze bottle thus allowing you to winterize your pipes. One my unit this is just outside the fresh water tank.
If I were to install a check valve I would put it before the pump. This would keep any pressure off the pump check valve, My pump problem was that the pump check valve would not open so the pump would run but not pull a vacuum. I think most folks have talked about the pump valve leaking back and filling their freshwater tank. Not sure which issue you are trying to fix.
        Good luck

When/if you boondock, you can also use this valve to fill the fresh water tank from a portable 6 or 7 gallon or larger water can. Insert the “water sprayer” located in the exterior docking center” directly into the fresh water inlet and turn on the cold water faucet. With the onboard water pump turned on, insert the clear hose into the water can, turn the valve to suck from the clear hose and it sucks the water from the can into the fresh water tank. Before I had this feature on an older fifth wheel, I had to lift the heavy 50 – 60 pound water can up to pour it into the fresh water tank. I was much younger then.

Jim, I like that idea. As a note though, I don’t think the water sprayer is rated for potable water. On the other hand, most, if not all of us, drank from garden hoses every summer, and we’re still alive. It probably won’t matter, but we should be aware.

The photo shows the valve in the open position between the pump and tank. If your pump check valve is stuck open and the fresh water tank is back filling when hooked up to city water here is a simple solution. Remove the fitting on the left side of the valve and replace it with a closed cap. Turn the valve switch horizontal (90 degrees counter clockwise). This closes the valve between tank and pump. Water will now back fill to the valve but not into the tank since the valve is closed. It will not leak out of the left side of the valve either because it is capped. When you are not hooked up to city water and need the pump turn the valve clockwise 90 degrees to the open position.

You can install a valve or back flow preventer where the line comes out of the fresh water tank to the pump like I did. I cut the line a few inches up from the bottom of the tank to install. No problems in years. Here is the posting on this forum.

This is a very easy solution to the problem.
