We just left our 5er for 2 weeks. I turned off the water, left the heat on 50 in case there are some cool nights in Southern GA but I just realized that I forgot to turn off the electric water heater. Do you think that all the water will evaporate in 14 days? I did leave a set of keys with the campground owner for emergencies but I don’t know whether to consider this an emergency.

        Thoughts?

        Thanks,

        Mark

        Mark,

At the park we’re workamping in, we’d be concerned if you didn’t feel comfortable to ask us to do such a simple thing as turn off your switch. Peace of mind!

Personaly I would not worry to much. It is a closed system so there should be no evaporation to drain the tank. It will cycle on and off as needed to keep water temp up. I have forgoted mine for longer than 14 days when I got home from vaction once. No problem at all. Just had to refill my propne tanks. At the same time if some one is available to shut if off it will give you peice of mind.

As long as you did not drain the water from the tank you should be okay. If you are not going below freezing, you could call the office and have them shut off the electric water heater off from the outside switch located after the cover is removed, lower left.

Absolutely zero reason to be concerned about this.

Thank you all. I ended up having the them go in and turn it off. While I agree Sundance, sometimes I worry just for worrying sake.
