I recently purchased a 2008 Carriage Cameo LXI; F35SB3. I know I saw the gray and black holding tank capacity listed somewhere, but for the life of me, I can’t find it now….jeesh! Could someone tell me the capacity or where to find this info? I did find the fresh water tank capacity (83 gallons)
Thanks………..Paul
Posted: 8:28 AM – Dec 13, 2012For many years, Carriage had been quoting a holding tank capacity of 55 gallons for both gray and black tanks in the Cameo line. A few years back (I think it was in 2009), it was discovered that the actual capacity was 40 gallons. Carriage had a program available for about a year where Cameo owners could get their tanks swapped out for a pair of 62 gallon tanks, but you had to take the rig into the factory to get this done.
The 2008 vintage Cameos all had the 40 gallon tanks originally. You would only have the larger tanks if the previous owner had opted to have the tank swap done. You can tell by looking underneath the coach. If the bottom of the tank cover is about even with the frame, you have the smaller tanks. If the bottom of the tank cover is several inches below the level of the frame, you have the larger tanks.
