My rig is going on 6 years old in March. The rear roof hvac unit is an Airxcel 15k heat pump and has work well until now.
We were in NE GA at the end of October and used the heat pump in cold weather just fine until needing to switch to the furnane.
In route home, we stopped S of Atlanta and stopped overnight (55 degree weather) and I switched on the heat pump. It ran but no heat.
The RV has been parked at home since until today. We arrived at our destination and no heat. 62 dgrees outside. I switched to ac and lowered the thermostat. The unit came on but was only blowing ambient air.
So the unit will run with the thermostat set to either mode but will not cool or heat.
Anyone have any suggestions? Time for a ac tech or is it time to replace? Thanks.

Heatpump should have worked at 55, but will not work at 40 or below.

Right. Unit will run in both modes via the thermostat but does not heat or cool.

              UPDATE:

The unit has 3 items behind the access panel:  1 run capacitor, 1 fan capacitor and 1 OD temp relay board which is the clear small square box with 5 or 6 wires attached to it.

Today I replaced the run capacitor but nothing changed.  I’m no a/c guy, but I was thinking it was not necessary to replace the fan capacitor since the fan runs in both modes.

The other item I’m thinking of replacing next is the OD Temp Relay Board.  Its manufactured by Zettler 275f101c or Airxcel part number 1460-3581.

I’m thinking of replacing that next before calling a service guy.  Thoughts?

              Thanks!

                  The latest: Still no go!
I have not replaced the fan capacitor since the fan runs in both modes. I ordered the relay and the control board.
The relay is not the right one as it does not have enough terminals.
I replaced the control board and no difference.
The only thing left is the relay which I cannot find.  The one sent (Coleman part number did not have enough terminals.  I guess I could still replace the fan capacitor since I have it but haven’t since the fan runs.  I don’t have any way to test the compressor as I’m just a layman.

Today we installed a factory refurbished Mach 15 HP just like the one that crapped out.  I got it from eBay for $450 including shipping and it come with a 1 year in field parts warranty.  It also came with the gasket already mounted to it minus the divider piece that goes between the supply/return.  It comes directly from the manufacturer.  This is half the price of a “new” one.  Everything about it looks brand new.  So we got it installed and it works!  I used the control board from the old unit.  It shroud was only available in white and all our cover on top are black so I am using the shroud from the old one and selling the new white shroud.  Hopefully we will get several years of service out of it.  The original lasted 5.5 years.
