Just installed the ARP fridge defender and would like to hear from anyone that has installed one, is this unit good to go out of the box or do you need to go through the set up menu ,which to me seems very confusing , my fridge is a Norcold N1095   Thanks.

I have a ARP fridge defender. The default settings should work. Yes the instructions are confusing but take your time and try them. As you try you will understand what they are saying.

Thanks for your reply, I find the display hard to see what readings are on it also.

Ours was good to go out of the box.

After I installed a new ammonia cooling unit (RV Cooling Warehouse)  I needed to change the Defender (hotter) setting to burp new cooling unit. Once this was done I return the Defender to the factory settings.  That was a year ago and haven’t touched it since.
