Hello,
Looking for opinions. I am considering attending the NRVTA in Athens Tx to become a Certified RV Inspector and registered Tech. Back story Im 61 and retired early due to having to care wife with health issues. Wife is improving but not the point where I can be able to return to a 40/50 hour week. RV Pre Purchase inspections and general RV maintenance would (if the plan works) allow me to work as needed or able. (schedule around Dr appointments, care etc).
My question is do you think there is a market for Pre Purchase inspections ( they teach an inspection that on average is 6 hrs and provides a professional report with pictures)? I know there is market for Techs, and Im not opposed to do repairs or maintenance ( school is a tad longer and more money) but Im not sure I want to be replacing AC units in July , in Florida and I feel the Tech side or part may be more physical. If I was 41 maybe but not at 61?
Next, my research into the school seems to indicate they are legit. Im wondering if anyone oaths form has any experience with them, National RV Training Academy in Athens TX?
Side note, I am a mechanical guy, I fix things, sometimes I take broken things apart just to see how or why they broke.
Thank you all for any input you may provide. ERW
