Good afternoon, we have a 2000 35′ 5th wheel 35fks, and the living room slide is giving us problems. Had a guy come out and say the teflon pads need to be replaced, at 30 hours labor as they must remove the slide to get to the pads. Is this correct? Is there any other way to fix these pads? Any help is greatly appreciated. Love our Capri, but this slide has given us fits for a while.

Yours is an older unit so flaws associated with current designs may not be relevant. If you could describe what is happening or not happening you might get better insight from owners. Not saying the tech is wrong, but there are a host of flaws on newer models of slides that have been fixed by owners and their knowledgeable techs without removing a slide. In rare cases when a slide removal was needed it was the larger slides with broken rollers and these slides are heavy and complicated so are not suitable for a small shop fix with limited equipment.
There is a long history of screws (that hold the plastic slide pan down to the plywood floor) backing out and the plywood floor of the incoming slide catching on them. Simply tightening the screws, adding a bit of silicone to keep them from backing out, or using a slightly larger screw with a bit of silicone seems to have worked for many. There is no Teflon pad to replace on newer models.
