        I am looking for the service maual, carriage cw374, fifth wheel, I’m having prob with 110 power to inverter, tester shows , open ground, I have tracer, but loose signal under floor, I get  good signal behind shower stall, from outside. Can’t find maual online?

          Ross,

           

          Not sure that you have your terminology correct.

           

          An inverter takes 12 DC volts from your batteries and inverts them to 120 volts A.C to run a microwave, coffee pot or tv.

           

          A  battery charger /converter takes 120 A.C. volts and converts it to 12 DC volts to charge batteries or run 12-volt light fixtures etc.

           

          They do make units that do both but these would not be oem items.

           

          If you are looking at 110/120 A.C. “from” an inverter, the lack of a ground should be obvious at every point.  That said, most inverters go through a transfer switch that is usually behind the great black wall in the main  storage area.   The transfer switch automatically disconnects inverter connections when you plug into shore 120 volt power.  There is a lot of history of those transfer switches going bad.  Other than the effort to take most everything out of the main storage area, removal of the rear black wall is pretty easy.
