Looking for any info or insights on the 2004 Carriage CW382.  So far, it feels like all mention or information on this model has disappeared into a galactic center black hole.

You are certainly correct on the “black hole”

I actually am glad I found the whole “carriage coach line” for the build quality is amazing. But the lack of information besides collections of component docs, and a few REALLY  knowledgeable people on this site, makes each repair a new adventure.

The rebuild of my 1996 528RK was a joy for it is a TANK and everything is rebuildable. Seems they were that way until around 2007. I spent 2 days a week living in it last year, and just did a boondocking trip at Quartzsite, and 2 weeks in Tucson (plugged in) last month with my wife and 2 puppies (we adopt older dogs).  Flawless experience. Still have no idea how many gallons the waste tanks hold. (GRIN) but nothing overflowed.

As I move on to selling the 528 and rebuilding the 36Max1, I look forward to being able to document more and trying to help keep the info flowing. But as the old saying goes, every time an old man passes an encyclopedia of information goes with him. The people that worked on the older units are not doing as much nowadays and hard to pass on the information in a closed loop.

Good luck and post pics… Thanks!

        Jack

          Thanks Jack,

I will post pics, measurements, and any other identifying data I can ascertain, once the snow melts and allows better access to this “camper”.  All I know so far is that it’s been very well maintained, and it’s heavy – you accurately described it as a “tank”.  I won’t be able to tow it with my SRW 3500.  Luckily, the person I’m buying it from has a dually and will deliver it for me.  (Once in place, I don’t plan to move it again).  The current owner has the owner’s manual and other paperwork on this unit, and I did glance through it a few months back.  Sadly, my memory is a distant memory, so I don’t recall any details.  Once he gets back from SoCal this spring, I will again have access to all his documentation.  I’m not sure if copyright law will allow this, but if so, I could scan/upload this to this site.  Seems like there’s a dearth of info on this model.
