My 2009 36Max1 trash bin area had been butchered apart and required a complete rebuild. I forgot to document it but did it too well. (GRIN) Cross braced behind and “squared it up” for there was a 3/4in gap at the bottom from the cabinet gouging into the floor.

Since the roller reinforcement, we did a trip to Quartzsite and Tucon in Jan-Feb and the couple of thousand miles popped out the rear counter cherry wood panel.. The air gun nails were only in it about ⅛ of an inch.

Now to take the trash bin area protectors out (I did not want under counter cleaning supplies to fall into the area back there and end up tearing a hole in the pan fabric).
Thinking of just nailing it back in or try liquid nails as a backup, but concerned about making it too rigid.

How about a photo of the finished customization if possible? Sounds like you did a really good modification.

Trash can area was “open” when I got this unit, for many had attempted to repair the slide

Rather than have stuff fall into the undercarriage, I built sides and the rear area with the appropriate sizes of ¼ in plywood.. And put it all together with robertson screws, for when under the sink it is really hard to get in and out.

I found a 5.8 gallon wastebasket at Target (Brightroom 18x8x15.5) that was easy to throw trash into, the taller ones required bending down more. And matched it with Walmart 8gal Great Value trash bags. Perfect for the 2 of us and the dogs.

                Yes,

great minds think alike.  I stuck my sub woofer in the very rear of this area to free up space under the tv.  Talk about a job for a young skinny guy!

Great place for the subwoofer. It is a place where things go to hide forever. Grin
