- Hi.
I have the 3 batt tray with 2 batts on it. The bracket towards the rear seems to have sunk down where it will no longer come out because it can’t clear the compartment door frame anymore. Anyone had this issue? I’m wondering whether removing everything from the batt compartment, then putting a spacer under the side that seemed to have fallen is the correct fix on this.
Thanks

Let us know what you find.Posted: 6:05 AM – Dec 13, 2015I was wrong. The tray did not sink. The sliding tracks in the tray were frozen up due to battery corrosion. The tray is designed to slide out in two segments; first the outer track and then an inner track. Carriage installed the tray so that the outer frame does hit the compartment frame, but the inner track will continue to slide out. Essentially, the factory installed my tray too low, which limits its extension to only one segment (about half its capacity).I cleaned it up, painted the compartment, and reinstalled the tray per the factory under the assumption that Carriage had a good reason for installing the tray to limit its extension.
