- 2011 Cameo 34 SB3: Big Foot stopped working in Auto mode on a trip across country. Used Manuel mode rest of the way. Tech at Quadra guesses air in lines, fluid contaminated, or needs limit switches? I bought limit switches. Now how do I drain the reservoir to put in new fluid? Control panel shows All Up and can’t retract front legs without going into Emergency retract. Anyone have history of this issue? Control panel not the problem. Was working fine. Did see some fluid leaking out of one of the rear reservoirs. Came out of top.Posted: 6:14 PM – Aug 02, 2017Have you installed a system shut off switch?

Fluid coming out of the top may mean water getting in…do you just want to get the oil (water?) out or do some preventive maintenance that may involve removing the pump?
Posted: 11:03 PM – Aug 02, 2017Right now I’m working on draining the reservoirs and then put in new DEX fluid. My neighbor who owns a fifth wheel and is familiar with limit switches thinks the one switch just needs adjustment. We aren’t full time and the Big Foot has worked well with shore power going into Auto mode every time. This is a strange one.Posted: 12:07 PM – Aug 03, 2017I pulled the pumps off and cleaned the tanks in our system. The bottom of the mixing cup shows the water water that came out of 2 tanks.I forgot to say when we had issues with dirt/corrosion/voltage leaking on our rear jacks people here picked on the fact that we didn’t haven’t have mud flaps protecting the pumps.
Posted: 8:58 PM – Aug 03, 2017Quadra Manufacturing also replaced the original ‘rubber cork with a straw in the middle’ reservoir plugs with a newer design that is a rubber plug with weephole. If the reservoir plug you have looks like a black rubber plug with a curv d straw through the middle of it, you need to upgrade to the newer plug. Particularly on the jacks behind the wheels, the old design allows water into the reservoir. The new plugs cost a couple dollars each plus postage.B.W.Gentry
