- Just passing on some information that I found – I was on the Bigfoot website today and I see they now have a 6 point levelling system. If you already have the 4 point system here is the link to the 6 point conversion kit: http://shop.thebigfootleveler.com/6pt-5 … I16-CK.htm
And here is the link to the full 6 point system: http://shop.thebigfootleveler.com/6pt-5 … 6-1630.htm
Reading through the installation document it looks like the new pair of jacks goes in front of the rear axle.
Posted: 3:57 PM – Jul 14, 2014It us my understanding that the 6 point system was developed for frames less sturdy and myself subject to twist/flex than the Carriage/Lifestyle box frames. Fyi, !each! of the bigfoots hydraulic jacks is rated to lift the full weight of the 5er!I can lift my 5er off the wheels and it is steady as a rock with wheel chocks, two rear scissor jacks, and a few JT Strongman and Just Right stabilizer bars. Way cheaper than more hydraulics.
Posted: 4:06 PM – Jul 14, 2014Comoco-Good stuff, but I took a couple of quotes out as significant –
1- “The “six point” design safely lifts and levels your trailer while supporting the frame in the front, rear and center reducing strain and slide-out failure due to today’s lighter weight frames.”
Just as JohnD222 said, it appears that this is for a unit that does not have the same frame that ours have.
2- “the rear jacks straddle the axles and are connected to each other and work as one unit”
The single Hydraulic ram does it for me and lifts the unit easily so I see no need for a second.
Good information though. Thanks for posting.
