- Checking to see if anyone else has trouble reading the Bigfoot control board. Ours is impossible to read in the sun and almost impossible to read in the shade. Not sure if we should get a new control board as I see they claim they have one with a blue tint that is easier to read.Posted: 11:12 AM – May 17, 2015Mine is tough to see at any time as well. Almost impossible in the sun.Posted: 6:35 PM – May 17, 2015DitoPosted: 10:18 PM – May 17, 2015One of my biggest complaints about the Bigfoot. Using the panel is virtually impossible in any sort of bright condition. Hadn’t heard about a blue one, but if it’s the same type of board, I suspect color won’t make much difference. And then they put that ever so slightly wrinkled protective surface over the lights, and that seals the cake, as far as I’m concerned.Posted: 7:16 AM – May 18, 2015I guess that is the advantage to having one of the old boards. Just a few orange lights and a big green foot when level.Posted: 7:52 PM – May 18, 2015Agreed.
However, it makes a BIG difference (improvement) if you take off your sunglasses. Don’t ask me why…. .

Like the famed mattress tag, this too can be removed.

Typically LCD displays and sunglasses are polarized the same way. If you turn your head sideways the polarization becomes crossed and the display becomes readable. Same with most fuel pumps.
Posted: 5:38 PM – Aug 01, 2015Update: we finally bit the bullet and purchased a replacement control panel. Bigfoot gave us the same price they give to rv repair people. It was simple to switch out and it is much, much better and easier to read than the old one. The blue light makes a big difference.’ Glad we did it.Posted: 6:21 PM – Aug 01, 2015I’m glad it worked for you. Dutch uses ours so often, he practically has it memorized so when we are in the sun it’s not as big of a problem as it is for some people. I do agree that it could be better but so far we are OK. May look in to this different screen sometime down the road if it becomes needed. Hugs, Di
PS I also agree about sunglasses!!!bubbagin wrote:Update: we finally bit the bullet and purchased a replacement control panel. Bigfoot gave us the same price they give to rv repair people. Posted: 9:19 AM – Aug 03, 2015They gave it to us for $179 plus 3.58 handling and 22.00 shipping.Posted: 9:21 AM – Aug 03, 2015Forgot to mention that if you are the original owner you might get it free or less. They asked us if we were and since we purchased used, they gave us the dealer price.Posted: 5:45 PM – Aug 03, 2015We’re not all that far from Quadra so we may stop in to get the skinny on this. Will post if we do go there. Hugs, Di
