After removing batteries for the winter and keeping them on a float charger, I reinstalled them in my 5’r and then went to lower the jacks to the ground ,the Bigfoot control panel appears to be dead , nothing lights up , everything in the trailer appears to be working except the Bigfoot control panel . Is the fuse for the bigfoot system the 30 amp one the comes out the control panel box next to the battery disconnect switch ? That fuse appeared to be blown , so replaced it and still nothing lighting up on the panel , is there another fuse I am missing ? All was well when I put the trailer away for the winter, any ideas out there ? Thanks.

I had a similar issue, I was told to remove the power the the big foot controller for a few minutes then power it up again… everything was back to normal. It’s like rebooting a computer.
I found my controller in the front bay in the upper right corner.
Hope this helps.

Previous owner of my rig said he had problems with the controller and in turn added a switch inside the front storage that kills power to the controller. Turn on power to use the leveling system and then turn the power back off. Not sure this helps but figured I’d put it out there.

Once you kill the power you may need to do a re-level calibration. My key fob stopped working and I replaced it but the new fob won’t work either. I may be replacing parts soon. RVs are about like BOATS. Bust Out Another Thousand! LOL

Well I tried the suggestion and disconnected the control panel from the power and then hooked it back up and it light up !!! But an error code started flashing and said to hit the enter button, but that did nothing , and it beeps about every 30 seconds ,so I have unhooked it again, any ideas how to get rid of the error code ?

I called Bigfoot at 800-752-9815 a couple years ago and their customer service was very accommodating.

Finally got to talk to a service tech at Bigfoot, and he basically told me it needed a reboot, he said to disconnect the power form the control module to the display module for 30 seconds , then hook back up and hit the power button on the display module before the display lights up, well this got rid of the error code , but a ( wait ) display comes on before I can hit the power button, I’ve left it in the wait mode and nothing more happens !! This is very frustrating as I can’t lower or raise the jacks and will be wanting to go camping soon . Does this happen every time the batteries are removed from the trailer ? I had no issues like this with the Bigfoot system on my old Cameo. Will try customer service tomorrow , but I think the service dept is very busy !!

I just went outside and tried mine (my batteries have been out all winter also) and everything worked fine.
Make sure your batteries fully charged.

Batteries are fully charged. The one guy at Quadra doesn’t know what’s the matter so he passed me off to another guy and it went right to his voice mail , left a message and have heard nothing ! I was told by the first guy I have a Gen 2 system if that makes a difference .

KeymasterHave you by chance checked out the Gen2 Owners Manual here: https://www.carriage-lifestyle-owners-club.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/BigFoot_Gen2_Owners-Manual.pdf
Maybe a Troubleshooting Section there.

Van,
What year is your rig?
My Bigfoot has both a fuse and a large circuit breaker. Sounds like one or both is blown.
pretty easy to test if 12 volts is getting through with a simple needle point test light. Or a multimeter with a ground clip. Pull the plug at the controller box in front storage. That cable runs between, the controller and the push button screen panel on the outside of the 5er. Test every pin on the controller input and output. If you are getting 12 volts on any pin going in AND any pin going out, you are sending 12 volts to the push button screen panel. If 12 in but not 12 out, it is that controller. If nothing in, there is a fuse or circuit breaker that is blown. If you get 12 in and 12 out, Put it back together. Take the 4 screws out of the push button screen on the outside of the 5er. If no pull out plug you are sol and I think it is your screen. If it does have a plug in cable, pull the wires off the back and test every pin for 12 volts. You should have 12 volts on the same (pin) color wire as you had on the wire leading out of the controller.

Hi John, my unit is a 2015 Lifestyle, I know the breaker is ok as I’ve checked for 12 volts , and I think the outside control panel is getting 12v as when I unplug the power going to the inside module and then plug back in the display lights up and shows ,please wait, for a few seconds. I will check each pin for continuity . Not sure how to check for 12v out if the controller plug is pulled ? If there is a fuse , do you know where to look ? I’ve checked the 12v fuse panel and don’t see a Bigfoot fuse in there . Thanks for your help .

I took the display module out and there are four wires connected to it , i used a probe and found that the black one has 12v to it and the green one is ground and the white and red have no voltage , is the white one suppost to be the 12v out to the control module inside ? Do you know what the white and red terminals do? I wonder if the Gen 2 controllers are still available if that is my problem.
