- My Chevy brake controller has stopped working. I’ve not been impressed with it so plan to replace it with a new one. We have disk brakes so wanted to see what controllers other members are using and which one you would suggest. Would like something that was dependable.
Thanks
Posted: 7:06 PM – May 01, 2013We have a maxbrake controller on our Dodge.http://www.maxbrake.com/brake-controller.php
The factory controller on our Dodge wouldn’t work our electric over hydraulic disc brakes. I installed the maxbrake myself in about an hour and a half. You have to tie into the master cylinder but its real easy. I also purchased the wire harness adapter for my truck so it was plug and play. When I unplugged the factory controller, I now get a message on the dash but I just disregard it.

Posted: 8:50 PM – May 01, 2013I have 2005 ram 3500 with a Brake Smart controller top shelf unit. Excellent product nice product, good people to deal with. Check there web site out. Good luck Jim ThomasPosted: 7:38 AM – May 02, 2013I use MaxBrake also. As Chip states the installation is straight forward. The difference between this and my old Prodigy 2 is dramatic. It is truly proportional based on the hydraulic pressure in your truck’s brake system. No more low speed grabby brakes. It it available frm Plug It Right, which is where I got mine. Di is very quick to get tge stuff to you.Posted: 1:58 PM – May 03, 2013We’re 4 + years with Max Brake ans just love it. Stops us flawlessly. Hugs, DiB.W.Gentry
