I’ve done things a little different,
I’ve had my Dodge 06 since 07. Purchased it with 12k on it.
It started life as a shortbed quad cab 2500.
According to Dodge, the difference in the 2500 and 3500 SRW was a leaf in the spring pack.
The difference in the dually was a longer axle for the wheel offset, with the added leaf in the spring pack.
All these had the same options of a 3.73 or 4.10 rear axle with the auto transmission.
The same frame and brakes were used on all models.
The 4500 had larger rotors due to standard 19.5 rims which allowed for bigger rotors. They also had another option for the rear end if you choose a manual tranny.

So what I have done, is take my little ‘ole 2500, made it into a 3500 SRW years ago. Now I’m in the process of gathering together the fenders, axle, and rims for a dually conversion.

PacBrake will make an showing this round. Other changes already made are EFI tuning, S&B air intake, shocks, airbags for leveling, various transmission parts, drain valve, and a few other goodies.

With our new truck we skipped alot of the bells and whistles (I call it “fluff”) we got the “max tow” package and the 4.10s, and all black with the minimum of chrome, impressive to look at if I could keep it clean up here in upstate NY…..another reason why I dislike winter
