        Hi All,

Has anyone else seen a change in level?

We have 2008 Cameo w/o bigfoot. Seems like we’ve had a “change” in the level on our rig in that the street side (on ours the side w/two slides including kitchen) seems to be a bit lower (maybe 1/2 inch).

Just had wheel bearings repacked and got a good look at all the suspension so it seems fine, but we’re consistently having to put a board under that side to achieve level.

Thoughts? Suggestions of what to look for?

        Thanks,
        Danny

We had new suspension system put on last summer and I know that they did add some slims on the heavy side to make sure it was level. I suspect that with time the suspension would wear and the heaver side would sag more. You might want to look at the rubber blocks in your suspension to see if they need replacing.

The leaf springs can sag over time. If that side has been overloaded for a period of time, or if you do tight turns to that side it can have an effect on the suspension.

Any suggestions on someone to look at it, and if it should be looked at? I didn’t see anything, but I’m not much of a suspension guy.

I would ask good independant mechanic shop. Leaf springs are leaf springs, they are no different if they are on a truck, trailer or RV. In our area, there are several big rig shops that do suspension and axle aleignments on just about anything that rolls.

Had planned to have the wet bolts kit installed while having the bearings repacked but the RV dealer said they don’t work on suspensions due to liability. Guess there’s no liability if the tires come off after they did the repack.

        I’ll find someone.

        Thanks.

I’d never go to that RV dealer again. There are many systems on our trailers and all could have liability issues. Not working on the main traveling parts of your home makes no sense. If I stopped working on liability parts we would have very limited business. Maybe they need a course on suspension repair it’s not hard just demanding of your attention while working on it.
