Has anyone done away with the 3M series and gone with a dual or tri filter system?

As it is currently plumbed, does the 3M filter just the city supply or does it filter the the tank too?

        For us it filters both.

Our 3M filter last about 6 months. We get just over a year, we’re on the road about 3-5 months a year. On past RVs when we were full-timing we used two house filters and would change them every month or two. For us the 3M filter works great.

I am on my original 3M but may consider adding a sediment filter prior to the 3M next spring. I hope this will assist in lengthening the life of the 3M

The in line filter assembly also comes in the “gallon” size. Available at Lowes and Home Depot for about $65 with one filter. Unless you get some real bad water, you won’t lose water pressure even after a year. However, good sense says change it out once a year.

All water goes through the filter, city and tank. There is also a larger filter (B3 size) that will last longer and give better flow. Its more expensive but we think its worth it. We are full timing and replace the filter once a year.

X2 on going to the B3 size filter. Longer life, better flow. And on our 35SB3, the filter works for both city and tank water.
