We’re considering a cordless vacuum cleaner. We find the central vac is a pain to use and not sure it does an effective job. Any reports on different brands would be appreciated.

        Thanks

You make a good point. We’ve already replaced the power head on the central vac and it doesn’t seem to pick-up like it should. I see Dyson advertise one, they are a bit pricey, but might be worth checking out.

We never once used the central vac in the Cameo so we didn’t order it on the LS. We have always used the compact upright Dirt Devil that we have had for years. We just purchased a Hoover cordless stick type vacuum. It works incredibly well and will run full power for about 20 minutes before starting to loose power. It also has a carpet and bare floor setting. Cost about $150 at Best Buy. The reviews on line were well above average and better than many more expensive units. Phillip

We’re looking at the Hoover Linx Cordless Stick at Amazon.com for $120:

Walmart has the same one for $148, but it’s currently out of stock.

        X2 Phillip.

We made the same choice as you. We ordered the coach without the central vac.
We ordered both the Hoover Linx vacuums. The Linx Stix upright as well as the Linx cordless hand vacuum which also has a crevice tool.
The batteries on the two are interchangeable.
Consumer Reports rated the two at the top of the class in cordless vacs.
They are a little bit hard to find at the moment as Hoover ran out of stock for months and just got a new shipment in at the end of April or early May.
Usere reviews on these vacs are very high.

We have a Central Vac. and it works great made by Dirt Devil however we still bought a stick vacuum made by Dyson. So light if fools you, you think it’s not doing anything then you look and all sorts of stuff that needs to be emptied. Beater brush does a fine job.

We also have a Dyson stick. It came with us from the house. It isn’t as powerful as the central vac, but it’s much more convenient. I mounted it in the bedroom closet. There’s some dead space, although that’s probably where the extra chairs could go, and there’s an outlet right there for charging.

My wife got a Dyson DC50 Animal and really likes it. It’s cordless and powerful. She didn’t like central vac in the RV for some reason or the other. I don’t argue, just shake my head and agree!

Thanks for the responses. After a lot of research, we ordered a Dyson DC59, should be here next week.

Likewise after looking at all the options we ordered the DC59, Dyson has a rebate going on until June 14 and Target offered a free set of add on tools.

We received the Dyson DC59 and it sure has far more power than the central vac system. The only thing is the battery life is only about 25 minutes, should be fine for the trailer but not so much in the house.
