- Every time my AC or heat pump comes on in the bedroom I hear a slow dripping sound in the ceiling of the kitchen. The drip sound is in between the 2 kitchen ac ducts near the lights. If I push up on the ceiling the drip sound stops. Also the drip sound continues for a few minutes after the unit shuts off. Could anyone tell me if they have the same thing and what it might be I am always listening for anything that I might think is a water leak, although I have no idea how there would be a leak in the kitchen from the bedroom AC.
Thanks
Posted: 10:29 AM – Nov 29, 2016We only get dripping outside. Are you hearing the outside drip?Posted: 12:07 PM – Nov 29, 2016No it is on the inside. The only dripping outside is off the corners. I am not sure it is a drip because why would it stop when I push on the ceiling?Posted: 12:15 PM – Nov 29, 2016On my 2013 36FW I have that same sound in my bathroom. The best that I can figure is that it is that the duct work is expanding and contracting. Either the hard ducts or the flex ducts….That’s my theory anyway……RichPosted: 11:00 AM – Nov 30, 2016I have the same noise when the heat is on. It is in the bathroom floor, under the shower area. It is the heat dusts expanding and contracting, as Risk suggested. It does stop during the heating process and comes back after the heat shuts off. It is normal for metal ducts. RayB.W.Gentry
