Dry silicone lube?

        Okay, so here’s an ignorant question. I keep reading about using “dry silicone lube/spray” for things like the Bigfoot rams. I know that WD40 is out, as it attracts dirt, etc. The guy I spoke to at Camping World had no idea, he said try Home Depot. There is a large variety of silicone sprays, apparently all designed for different uses. Which one should I use?

        I’ve been told it’s a Silicone spray that goes on wet and dries to a powdery coating. I’ve checked all the BigBox stores, RV supply places, auto parts stores, and still have not found anything that fits that description.

        I’ve been using a product called Jig-A-Loo. I found it a few years ago on the Excel owners website. It goes on wet but drys with no residue almost instantly. Great stuff. I’ve been able to get it at some HD stores.

        The Bigfoot Maintenance Guide says to use 100% Silicone Lubricant.

        I just use the CRC heavy duty silicone spray you can get at Walmart a few times a year and wipe it down with a towel and mine look as good as the day I purchased the rig. Nothing sticks to them and no rust issues.

        Any of the silicone sprays ought to be ok. Several I know use the liquid wrench silicone spray for garage doors. It drys quick and doesn’t seem to attract dirt.
