Just wanted to give you a long overdue update.
We had an unusual 2019 fer sure. We went to Altoona, IA in May where I had the opportunity to work at Adventureland Amusement park for 3 months. It was a huge park and I was with baby to teenagers all day long running rides and assisting them getting on and off their rides. What a blast. A group of teens made me an unofficial member of their Squid Head Club & have me a hat. I’ll try to attach a picture of me wearing it when I get a moment. Dutch was in the attached park and could ride his bike everywhere & even over to me if he wanted. The job was a huge amount of walking & standing so Dutch was out of working there.
When I was making a reservation to golf at Bully Pulpit golf course in Medora, ND they offered me a 2 month position in the pro shop. What a great job and golf course. We did attend several shows too.
I also had an opportunity to work in the pro shop in Casa Grande, AZ. Dutch was pretty stranded as I had to take the truck to work but our “neighbors” kept an eye on him and kept him going to their gatherings. We did a pretty good amount of golfing. You know how much I love being around people so these opportunities were absolutely wonderful.
We spent about 6 weeks in The Rio Grande Valley of Texas doing nothing more than golfing & RV park activities. After a detour to Indiana, we decided to head to Florida. We were here 6 days when the pandemic hit and we’re still here!. I think we have the OK to leave on May 8th but will be spending the summer here.
So far we are both still healthy w/ no sign of the virus but tired of the isolation as are most people. We as a country will survive. We did finally get out for a round of golf but I wouldn’t let Dutch take a chance on going in the market for a walk so bike riding is all he can do. I do have him doing exercises, jig saw puzzles & reading to keep his mind somewhat active.
Take care & if you’d like to update where you are, that would be lovely.. Hugs, Dutch & Di
