I keep having a popping noise in roof/ceiling area, close to 11/2 weeks. I wounder if it’s a electrical problem,
but it seems to move around to DW.
It’s not the popping you hear from heating and cooling off and It doesn’t do it all the time.
No lights flashing or dimming. I have been on top b4 the rain, trying to see if any thing is loose, with
the way wind is in Gulf Port AL. Thought it could be a relay popping is there any in the roof/ceiling.
All I have done to roof since buying was put winegaurd satellite and another AC, switched old ac from
living room to bdrm and new one in living area. Maybe something they did came loose. If it was electrica
and was popping surely some thing would be going on.
        Any one has suggestions.!

Just a long shot, but could it be the air ducts or some insulation in the ducts?

My outside vent cover, for the microwave, makes a popping type sound when it is windy. The sound could be mistaken for electrical popping. Only happens when the wind is coming from certain directions.

When the wind blows my over the air Ant. will make a popping/clicking sound (when cranked up) that is coming from the roof/ceiling area. I know this post is a bit old but did you find what was making the sound?

We hear a similar noise at night and I’ve always assumed it was the metal duct works, but I’m not sure. We’ve got use to it, but I do wonder what causes it.
