Has anyone modified their fireplace so as to easily get to the dead storage space behind it. I’ve seen one post where drawer slides were used. I’d do that but they caution the fireplace is heavy when you’ve got it slid out, so you have to block it. Anyone try hinges, or anything else.

I used drawer slides, works good. But it is heavy so I have a block that I use to support the front. Let me know if you want a picture?

The Pictures were a little hard to take. The drawer slides were heavy duty slides I bought online.
