This valve will rotate to several different position to allow several different functions. This is the way it works on my 2015 DRV. It confused me at first. Just guessing this is what you have.FS
Posted: 6:25 AM – Sep 13, 2015I understand the valve, but what I am talking about is when there isn`t a hose or pressurize water system and you are pouring water with a bucket….David
Posted: 11:52 PM – Sep 13, 2015I agree. I wish lifestyles cam with a gravity fill. It is one of my concerns about purchasing one. We go to several places regularly that have very low pressure water systems. There is not enough pressure to fill the tank through the valve and a gravity fill is needed to get water in the tank.
Posted: 7:23 AM – Sep 14, 2015On a previous trailer, if we wanted to “gravity fill” our fresh water tank we had to place the valves in a certain way that used the pump to draw water out of a “bucket” – of course you had to attach a hose to the “city water connection” and the other end of the hose in the bucket. This worked but was a pain. Our 2013 Lifestyle has gravity fill.
Posted: 8:40 PM – Sep 15, 2015Try getting a 12 volt bilge pump, like a Piranha, that you can put in the bottom of a bucket. You’d need to make something to adapt to a fill hose from the pump outlet (barb) but that’s pretty simple. I have one of these that I made for when I boon dock and fill from my 45 gallon portable water tank in the bed of my pickup. Works well, good pressure. I don’t remember the flow specs but you can check it on line. It’s a cheap solution if you boon dock a lot. I would send a picture of the whole setup but it’s tucked away in the attack right now. Hope this helps out some.
Posted: 9:12 AM – Sep 16, 2015Not sure I understand the problem. Lifestyles have a water tank fill in the docking station. Doesnt that work? The idea presented using the winterizing position on the 12v pump is a good one. I use that to sanitize my system and water tank. Just suck up the water from a “bucket”, put the hose in the docking station into the tank water fill and you put water from the bucket into the tank. Much easier than trying to pour water into a water fill hole, wherever it is located.

Posted: 8:07 PM – Sep 19, 2015Why not use the winterizing hose and the onboard water pump? put the winterizing hose in the fresh water container you want to fill the trailer with.
Then use the outside shower/hose to fill the fresh water tank?
Posted: 11:20 AM – Sep 20, 2015Seems like a lot of extra work to fill a tank. This was lifestyle or other manufactures way of making it easier?
Posted: 12:30 PM – Sep 20, 2015Who said it was done to make it easier? However it seems to me to be safer inside a lockable cabinet.

Then use the outside shower/hose to fill the fresh water tank?Without having a fill inlet for your fresh water tank, the idea above I think would work great. I use the winterizing kit to put the pink stuff in and it seem fast and it’s easy to use. Our Cameo has a place to fill the water tank, but if I had to use anything put a hose the angle to fill with a bucket would be hard. Even having it I would still use the hose and pump and not even try to fill with a bucket and funnel. Good luck and enjoy boon docking.
Posted: 9:01 PM – Sep 24, 2015I’ve been boondocking all summer. I use my winterizing valve and pull water from my water jug. I put the hose from the docking station faucet in the tank fill and turn on the faucet.. the water pump then pulls the water from my Portable tank an fills the main tank. Nothing to buy and is easy to do. Just like Wannabe says. Easier than lifting a 5 gallon jug high enough to pour it in.
