- Does anyone know what the fuse is for in the BigFoot control center?….I pulled the fuse, the BigFoot still works, shut off the battery disconnect and the BigFoot still works…so, the question is what’s the fuse for and does the BigFoot system have fuse protection? ……. Any thoughts?…..RichPosted: 7:38 AM – Aug 15, 2013I haven’t pulled my fuse but I was told that fuse is for the BigFoot. I was also told BigFoot would work with the battery disconnected but I haven’t tried that either! Sorry I am not of much help.Posted: 1:51 PM – Aug 15, 2013So it’s safe to say that everybody has this fuse in there Lifestyle and nobody knows what it is for and how the BigFoot system is protected?????Posted: 4:13 PM – Aug 15, 2013subframe wrote:So it’s safe to say that everybody has this fuse in there Lifestyle and nobody knows what it is for and how the BigFoot system is protected?????
I don’t know if my 2011 Carri-lite is wired the same as your Lifestyle. There is a 30 amp fuse in the compartment where the bigfoot control panel is, first pic. It is for the charging system and doesn’t have anything to do with the bigfoot. The big foot is powered directly from the battery to a 120 amp breaker located in my front storage compartment for the power leads to the individual pumps. Coming off the 120 amp breaker is a small wire with a 7.5 amp fuse, second pic, that powers the control panel. The reason the bigfoot will work with the battery disconect turned off is the power for the bigfoot comes directly from the battery. This is how it is on my Carriage.

Posted: 5:37 PM – Aug 15, 2013Thanks Chip….When time permits I will check that out …..RichPosted: 5:50 PM – Aug 15, 2013I believe the fuse in the Bigfoot compartment is an inline fuse connected to the 12v line in the trailer plug, which connects the trailer to the tow vehicle. The trailer gets 12v from the truck and that line is fused.Posted: 7:14 PM – Aug 15, 2013retiredfields wrote:I believe the fuse in the Bigfoot compartment is an inline fuse connected to the 12v line in the trailer plug, which connects the trailer to the tow vehicle. Posted: 9:14 PM – Aug 15, 2013x2, bigfoot is hard wired to the battery. Bigfoot, just like a starter motor, draws too much amperage for a fuse.falconhunter wrote:subframe wrote:So it’s safe to say that everybody has this fuse in there Lifestyle and nobody knows what it is for and how the BigFoot system is protected?????I don’t know if my 2011 Carri-lite is wired the same as your Lifestyle.
