      Hi,

I inquired awhile back on Onan generator models to purchase for my 07 F35SB3 that is pre wired with remote Onan starter in control panel area. Not sure if it was responded too? May have missed it, this sight isn’t user friendly to navigate thru.

      Thank You

      GZRGLYD

I’m traveling currently, but easily installed a 5500

Long story to get the Onan Marquis Gold 5500 I purchased used with 1500hrs on it to re-install in the 2009 36Max1 that the PO had removed. Really did not look at the bottom of the genset much except to hook up a fuel line and ground to test on the bench before install. Worked OK, but real rough but I figured that was from sitting for 14 months before I even pulled it out to install.

Rebuilt the carb for good measure and ran perfect for a few minutes at a time. Cutouts already in the pan of the front storage area, probably from factory install, and carefully slid it into the area and bolted it in.

Hooked up the ground, positive and harness to the bathroom start switch and she started right up. Loaded with both air conditioners and ran fine. Shut off the AC’s and it stopped dead. Ran the flashing light test, error 14, over frequency. Checked and running at idle of 62hz tried the same test again and stopped dead again. Took a closer look at the main jet adjustment and I think it might be bent. Adjusted mixture and governor but not much change, thought carefully , checked with Cummins and new Carb A062T422 $576.86. Hmm pretty simple carb seems a little overpriced. Cheapest the factory box carb I can find is $400, and then all the $45-55 ones on Amazon. Figure the $400 ones are the re-boxed $45 units so gambled on one Amazon for $55 (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07X1PV5G9?psc=1&ref=product_details) and installed it. Purrs like a kitten and moved the governor back to original settings and tested about 3 times over a few hours, setting the idle to 60.5hz and full load around 62hz. Takes some ‘fiddling around” but you get the idea how it works around the 10th time. (probably around the 5th)
