I’m in the process of de-winterizing our trailer and need some help. For the hot water heater in the past I’ve always turn the valves to the opposite way, added
anti-freeze and than turn them back to where they were. Now I’m not sure I did that the last time. I’ve turned them in the position showed in the photo and I can hear water flowing into it, but before I turn on the power I wanted to see if they are in the right position?

        Thanks for the help.

For some reason the photo is upside down.

        Traveler,

Of course no guarantees, but I’ve never seen a valve that didn’t orient such that when the longest part of the handle is in line with the pipe it’s “open” and when the long part is perpendicular to the pipe, the valve is closed.

True, but if memory serves me, two of the valves were open and one was shut. I would think that the top and bottom should be open and the one in the middle shut, but I’m not sure. I’ve checked the manuals and can’t find any info.

The one in the middle should be the other way (shut). If you don’t shut it you will not get hot water.

        Traveler –

you are so lucky that you have this place to ask these questions. On other forums you could have gotten a bunch of s&!t about not knowing the answer to such a simple question. :P :D  Hope your travels go well and take care. We are still considering pulling out and heading south in February.

Give Jane a hug for me and “keep the shiny side up”.

        Hi John,
Yes, after checking our manuals and not finding what I needed the forum came through, I just wanted to double check what I had done, or should say what I had done wrong. Thanks

I suggest you and Gale get out of Minnesota and head south. And you “keep the dirty side down.”
