I have been trying to find a way to sanitize my fresh water tank and the rest of the fresh water lines.  My Lifestyle does not have a filler neck for the fresh water tank, which makes it difficult to add bleach to the tank for sanitizing.  Some people have suggested to connect a hose to the city water fill connection, then put beach in the hose and fill with lever in the gravity fill position (put hot water tank in bypass first).  This will force the bleach and water into the fresh tank.  Not a terrible idea, but can be messy.  I think I have a better way of doing this.

I hope this all make sense to everyone.  It may sound complicated, but not really.  You are basically using the onboard pump to do the work of transferring bleach water to the fresh water tank, then using it to pump the diluted solution through the rest of the system.

This is what I do once a year. Been doing it this way for 13 years. I pour 2oz of bleach per 15gallons of water in the fresh water tank. Then I fill the fresh water tank up with water. Then I turn on the pump and fill all the lines including the water heater up. I open each facet till water is coming out. Then I let it all sit over night till the next day. Then I drain the fresh water tank and the water heater. I fill the fresh water tank back up and turn on the pump and open the facets. After I flush the system out. I drain the water heater and fresh water tank one more time and fill everything up and flush the system again. Then I drain everything again and I am through for another year.
