- In our 2011 34SB3 Cameo we have the Samsung HD series 550 wall mounted 37″ TV. I’d like to do some work behind the TV – add some cabling. However, trying to see behind the TV let alone find any of the connection ports is nearly impossible. As far as I can tell it isn’t a mount that swivels although feeling behind the TV, the mount seems to have a couple of levers that move. There must be a simple way to disengage/re-engage the TV from the mount. My question is: has anyone had any experience with the type of mount used to hang the TV?Posted: 2:57 PM – Jan 02, 2013I have a 2008 Cameo, and not sure if the wall mount is the same as on yours, but look underneath and behind the TV. On mine there is a nut there, which if you remove will allow you to lift the TV up and off the mount. The TV is not heavy, but you may want a second pair of hands to help you disconnect the TV from the cables so you can move it out of the way while you work. Hope this helps.Posted: 5:23 PM – Jan 02, 2013We have a 2011 with a 40″ Sony and to release ours there are two levers that have to be pulled. They are easy to reach with you fingers and elbows at the bottom of the TV, if that makes any sense. You end up with the bottom of the TV in the bend in your arms after you release the locks and pickup on the TV. Good luck and hope that helps!Posted: 6:14 PM – Jan 02, 2013Our 2011 35SB3 has the 37″ Samsung and it sounds like the mount is similar to “myvann”. There are two spring loaded tabs that are accessed from below the TV. When they are released you can raise the TV up and out to clear the notches that hold the tv in place. It is resting on your elbows and leaning against your body when you clear the backet. It isn’t very heavy.Posted: 9:54 AM – Jan 04, 2013Thanks for the input. My mount is similar to what myvann and Jpcovert1 reported – two levers had to be pulled simultaneously. Once pulled, the bottom swung out. All I had to do was lift up and away with the set resting on my arms. Then I could lay the TV face down on the desk giving me full access to the back.
One of my goals was to attach a short VGA cable so I can display my MacBook Pro in HD on the screen. It would have been a bugger trying to connect the cable without being able to un-mount the TV.
Replacing the TV was also just a snap – literally! Just a matter of lining up the hanger. Now I can display full screen HD from my laptop plus other cabling for a stand-alone Blu-Ray player.
