      Hello,

I saw were a member posted about a brake conversion for a 2014 Lifestyle RV.  We have a 2014 LS37IK3, similar in size the the LS38RS mentioned in the post. After traveling a lot of miles with the standard electric brakes, a fellow traveller introduced us to a company called Performance Trailer Braking.

Their website is https://performancetrailerbraking.com/ , and their phone number is 405-626-7009.

After quoting the job, they arranged to meet us in Quartzsite AZ, at the time of the RV show there.  I believe that we had to put a deposit down, but I do not recall how much it was.

The team that did our 5th wheel were a father and son team.  They did the work in one day – we had to bring the RV to their RV park as they were not allowed to do work in the one we had booked.  These gentlemen were courteous, professional and friendly and did the work in the time promised.  One of them then rode with us to check out the performance of the braking system and helped to adjust the brakes so that I would not lock up the trailer wheels.

The difference was amazing.  I wish that I had done the conversion on the day we purchased the trailer.  Not cheap, but no regrets whatsoever in having the conversion done.

      Good luck and safe travels!

      Paul

Yes, agreed.  No comparison even if electric drums are adjusted and fully functioning, which most are not.

I did this conversion myself in 2020 on our 2011 Cameo 32FWS.  We had just bought this camper, and before doing the conversion we adjusted all the electric brakes.  Stopping was impressive from slower speeds, so we took it up a hill near home and simulated an emergency stop from 50 mph going downhill…..impressive, but not in a good way!  We had to change the axles from the original Dexter NevrLubes that nobody makes a disc brake kit for……but so glad we did the job.  So much better piece of mind while on the road, knowing that we can stop in time.  Highly recommended
