I always felt the kitchen counter work lighting was a bit lacking. Our prior Cameo had 2 ceiling lights dedicated to the counter area in addition to the ones located under the cabinets. The Lifestyle does not have any work lights except those under the cabinets and then the “kitchen zone” ceiling lights on a dimmer that don’t do much for the counter work space.
I decided to add 3 LED puck lights to the area over the kitchen counters in the slide-out. I ordered the exact same ones that were installed elsewhere in the rig. I found 3 of them on EBay for less than $30. I already had a switch from replacing one with a dimmer.
I wired the lights to the 12v wire from the former Norcold which I replaced last year with a residential fridge. Originally, I wanted to put the switch right beside the existing one for the under cabinet lights but decided the wiring would be too difficult. I placed the new switch at the same height from the floors as the rest of the light switches. I located it on the wall beside the fridge.
The new lights make a world of difference in the kitchen area and only ask myself why I didn’t do it sooner. I have enclosed some pix for those interested.
        Happy New Year to all.

Lovely job. Might have to put it on Dutch’s “To Do” list  . Hugs, Di

Fantastic idea. In our 37RESL, you work in your shadow quite a bit – the island lights are behind you, and only one little puck light in the stove area, which is mostly blocked by the coffee maker. This may go onto my to-do list also.

The lites are for sale on Amazon. There are two part numbers from ITC (manufacturer) The 81232 is the type on the dimmer. The 81230 is on an on/off switch. Before you go to to much trouble, you might want to try upgrading the bulbs in the vent fan over the stove. From factory they come with 25W I think. They can take 40W no problem. Walmart has them.
Also, in case you havent noticed, the bulbs in the lites over the island loose light over time. They start to look like used flash bulbs. Here again a larger 18W bulb works great.

In my 2014 Lifestyle, the lights used are by Perfit RV and are 480 lumen. Model number PL-4535. Here is a link to the manufacturer. The puck lights come in 2 sizes. I found them from just a few sellers on the web.
