- Was preparing to leave camp yesterday around noon. Had been there 3 days. Temp the night before was in the low 30s. Was still connected to 50 amp shore power.
Hit the button to turn on the Level Up system…nothing. Thought I didn’t push hard enough so I pushed it again. Nothing again. Checked the power pole, checked the coach power and both were fine. On my previous coach I had problems twice, but that was when it was hot and I believed the fuse for the system had overheated. This time I had no idea.
I called Lippert and since it was Sunday they were closed. I got transferred to their emergency contact and left a detailed message.
I opened the front compartment and looked for any obvious problems. There were none. I remembered the technician pointing out the 10 amp fuse during the PDI. I removed it, checked to make sure it hadn’t blown (it was fine), dropped the fuse, picked it up, blew it off, and re-installed it. There was no 10 amp fuse in the system on my old coach. I guess this is an “improvement”.
Went back to the Level Up control panel and hit the on/off button and the system sprang to life. The fuse was in there tight so I have no idea what the problem was. Regardless, I was relieved!!!
Another lesson learned on Level Up.
The Lippert emergency guy called me back about 2 hrs later and I told him what I did to “fix” the problem.

Posted: 10:21 PM – Mar 30, 2015LOL!! I think the magic happened when I dropped the fuse, It is one of those automotive blade type fusess. I must have “reset” it.Posted: 10:24 PM – Mar 30, 2015As long as you get paid brother, technique is not important!Posted: 7:36 AM – Mar 31, 2015You should probably clean the fuse holder with some contact cleaner and put a little dielectric grease on the blades of the fuse. Might be a little corrosion in there that can cause trouble again in the future.Chip

I appreciate the suggestion, but I doubt the fuse/holder was the issue. It is only 3 weeks old. That is not to say the parts haven’t been sitting in a bin for a decade.
I think it was a Level Up “brain” fart. For some unknown reason the system’s brain wasn’t getting any juice. I’ve had contact cleaner for a while and never used it. If the problem recurs, it’ll get used then.

Maybe check the ground connection. could be loose or have lots of paint between the frame and connector.

Posted: 8:23 AM – Mar 31, 2015Good idea. I’ll just have to find it. Lots of plastic covering all the wires. Electrical issues are a real PITA.Posted: 9:53 AM – Mar 31, 2015I didn’t think LIfestyle used anything from Lippert.Posted: 9:58 AM – Mar 31, 2015It’s an Alfa Gold instead of Lifestyle but made by Evergreen. This model says 6-point level system can only be Lippert.Posted: 10:04 AM – Mar 31, 2015remoandiris wrote:falconhunter wrote:You should probably clean the fuse holder with some contact cleaner and put a little dielectric grease on the blades of the fuse. The 10 amp fuse is most likely the power for the system’s brain. The leveling system will have a much larger breaker type fuse. I don’t know of any lever systems that would work on only 10 amps.
ChipPosted: 12:07 PM – Mar 31, 2015Here is a link to the troubleshoot guide. The 10 amp fuse powers the control panel.

Scroll down to parts table page 9 and it shows L as being the circuit interrupter for the pump.
ChipPosted: 4:15 PM – Mar 31, 2015Thanks for that!! On the Cyclone when I had a problem with the Level Up I jolted the system solenoid directly from the coach battery. Had to do that twice. Scared me both times.B.W.Gentry
