I currently run a Xantrex Freedom 458 charger/inverter in my 35SB3. But it is now outputting something on the order of a 140V AC, which is quickly going to fry my electronics. So, my first thought was to simply purchase a new “inverter only” inverter, and put the OEM Progressive Dynamics 9260C charger that came with the rig back in for charging. When I fired up my genset with the Xantrex, it passed power through the charger/inverter, taking whatever power I’d allowed it for charging, and provided the rest to the coach for whatever power loads was needed. But now I’m beginning to wonder, can the 9260 charger do this? In other words, can the 9260 act as an intelligent charge controller, and not try and draw power from the inverter when it’s on? If it can’t act as an intelligent controller, do I have to shut it off each time I want to use the inverter? Help, my brain is melting!
