        Question: Does anyone know how long the LP refrigerator will run, if there is no other draw on the batteries? This is based on the assumption that the batteries must have some juice for the LP refrigerator to continue running, which may or may not be the case. Anyone know if two good deep cycle batteries and two full 30lb tanks of LP will keep the fridge cooling for a whole week? I have the Norcold 1210IM. Anyone have any idea how long it actually can run at normal cooling capacity?

        I realize this question can be taken to more precise levels, just looking for anecdotal type information or personal experience.

        Anyhow, that is the sort of information I seek. Thank for responses.

        The 12v powers the circuit board, lights and the spark igniter. You do need 12v for it to run on propane.

        The board pulls about 1 amp, or less. At 1 amp, that’s 24 amp=hours per day, for 7 days, for a total of 168 amp hours. Its best not to discharge wet cells below 50%, so you would need to have batteries capable of 336 amp-hours to be safe.

        It comes down to what your batteries capable of. A small solar charger might make all the difference.

        Reserve capacity is another measure of battery performance. The reserve capacity of your battery is 175 minutes. This means that your battery, at a 25 amp draw, will last for 175 minutes before dropping below 10.5 volts (dead). As a comparison, a Trojan T105 has a reserve capacity of 447 minutes. Put two of them together, to get 12v, and their reserve capacity remains 447 minutes, which is more than double your battery. Your battery weighs 53 lbs and the T105 weighs 62 lbs, which equals significantly more lead.

        A reserve capacity of 175 minutes equals an amp-hour rating of about 72, or 144 for two batteries. At that rating, they would safely run the fridge for about 72 hours.

        As far as propane goes a 30# propane will last me 19 days using it for the fridge, water heater and misc. stove. I boondock mainly. No hook ups.

        I’m set up for off grid with 1,280 watts of solar panels and 400 amp hours of usable lithium batteries and a 3,000 hybrid inverter. It has been 76 days so far since plugging into shore power.
