I have a 2007 Carriage-Carriage and the clear coat is peeling pretty bad all over. Is the fiberglass painted, or is it decals as some people tell me?

It doesn’t feel like decals, but what do I know, I am new to all of this.

      TIA

        Dan,

you could elect a “full body paint” option for most models back then. That paint then had several coats of clear coat on top. Those generally, but not always had no decals. I Do not know if that is what you have.

if most of the body is white it is more likely just fiberglass with several layers of clear coat on top, with decals applied over the top.

decals mostly fade and or shrink and crack, looking pretty ugly, and sometimes curl or peel off in some places. But they don’t flake off.

The clear coat on the fiberglass usually just oxidizes like a chalk, but polishes right up with a fair bit of elbow grease.

not sure that helps you. A photo might help someone else give you a better idea.

I see, thanks for the info. As I inspected much closer, I am thinking it is the white fiberglass with decals. The clear is flaking off and I’m wanting to know how I can take it off, but I guess I should be worrying about getting off the areas that are flaking and then reclearing?
