I am in need of some advice. Late last fall we purchased a 2008 37RE3. After we got the trailer home we realized that it was not pre plumbed for a washer dryer which we would like to have. I was wondering if anyone had taken on the project of installing the necessary pluming and if so what kind of problems did you run into and is it worth while. Thanks for any advice on this topic

Let me say first off that I haven’t done what you ask as ours is plumbed, but I’ve installed a vent in the side and thoroughly looked over our plumbing and electrical while I was doing that mod. The plumbing (waste and hot/cold pex) in our 35SB3 runs from the cabinet in the very front of the 5W and hooks directly into the bathroom piping in the bay on the door side of the 5W. It appears pretty straight-forward albeit tight in some areas. Cut new return pipe and “Y” in. Get pex T’s for hot and cold along with faucets for the cabinet. I’ve done a good bit of plumbing with copper and PVC. Pex looks really simple. Do you have wiring already set up? That wouldn’t be too difficult either I would think.

        Hey Monty
Thanks for the reply. Do you think the drain and hoses would have to run on top of the floor into the bathroom are or could they be buried beneath the floor. I don’t have anything set up yet but wiring should be fairly straight forward I would think

I’m not sure what model you have, but on the 35SB3, the pipes run behind the window seat and dresser on top of the floor and turn down into the bay. You can only see them if you pull the drawers out. Can you elaborate on where your Washer/Dryer cabinet is and what features are along the same wall? My guess is that my seat and dresser is designed in only one way and plumbing can be installed or not. I would assume you are “5W plumbing ready” as far as structure goes. Maybe not. I’d have to do some investigating. How much tinkering experience do you have?

We have a 2008 37RE3 model with the washer/dryer cabinet in the bedroom (right front corner of trailer) It also has the window seat and cabinet so it sounds like similar to yours. I can’t check it out right now as trailer is in storage for winter months. I have a bit of handyman experience so it sounds like I should be able to do this. Thanks for your help

Unless you custom ordered it without the plumbing, it might be in the wall where the washer sits. Several models we looked at didn’t have the “box” where the hoses connect but were told the plumbing was in place in the wall.

That’s potentially good news and easily verifiable, eh?

Thanks We bought the trailer last October so don’t know how exactly it was ordered. Will check for that possiblity when I get it out of storage

If I end up having to put a drain pipe in do you think it would require a p trap somewhere in the drain pipe

Yes, you will need a p trap if one isn’t already there.
