- We have recently had to replace both rear tank assemblies and cylinders due to water entering the system causing the rear jacks to malfunction. Previously, Quadra personnel in Michigan drained and cleaned both reservoirs of contaminated water in the fluid. They also replaced both vented fill caps. After one week the same problem reoccured. Any suggestions on how we can keep water from entering the system? Jim (at Quadra) suggested placing the rear pumps in the front compartment and running new hoses to the rear jacks. We live in California and the previous repairs have already cost us nearly $2000.Posted: 7:05 PM – Aug 14, 2015Wow! I have never hear of that. I had a 2011 Cameo for about 2 years with the Big Foot system. Didn’t really have any problems.
Currently have a 2014 Lifestyle since March of 2014. No problems with the system like that at all.
I did install NAPA rubber mud flap behind the rear wheels. A ton of water is thrown directly on the jacks from driving in rain.
If you are getting water in the reservoirs it seems to be that the caps are not sealing out the water….otherwise who would the water get in?
Sorry to hear of your issue. I can offer the suggestion of the mud flaps. I will be watching this one to see what others say.
Good luck, PhillipPosted: 7:26 PM – Aug 14, 2015How did you install the mud flaps behind the rear wheels? There’s not much room between the tire and the wheel well.Posted: 7:55 PM – Aug 14, 2015The flaps are a heavy gauge rubber about an 1/4 of an inch thick and about 12 inches wide. They are just the right size to fit right into the width of the wheel well cutting a tiny slit to accommodate the lower body “j wrap”. They are plan black rubber with no logo or writing on them.
I screwed them directly into the wood of the wheel well and caulked the back side and top of the flap so water would not run down between the 2 surfaces. They fit very well and hang down just to the height of the retracted jacks foot pad.
I don’t have any pix on line showing them but can get some posted later if you need them.

We firstly used some wood sealant prior to the mudflap install. In a bit more than 3 years, no issues with water
