How do you like the Quadra system? Does it pop or has to be re-leveled, because of jack monement, like the lippert system. Pros and Cons.
Thanks Lillyputz
Posted: 11:06 AM – Feb 24, 2013Welcome to your new Forum. Unfortunately, we’ve been sitting in one spot for over a year now (due to me recovering from two shoulder surgeries ). I deployed the Big Foot System when we arrived and its remained exactly the same for 15 months without any adjustments or noises. I LOVE THIS SYSTEM. We had it installed two years ago on our 07′ Carri-Lite at the Quadra Mfg. while visiting in the Millersburg, Middlebury area. Best investment we’ve ever made.

Posted: 1:35 PM – Feb 24, 2013If you mean by “pop” does it make a noise when you raise them, yes. I was using a dry silicone and found that each time I had to raise them I would need to clean off the cylinders and re-spray. I was talking to the factory on another question and mention this, they told me to use a Teflon lubricate spray, works great and they come up without making a noise.
We move around a lot and I’ve found that once I level the trailer, that’s it stay’s right on. Great system
Posted: 5:06 PM – Feb 24, 2013I believe that Lippert uses one hydraulic fluid reservoir and one pump. Bigfoot has a reservoir and pump at each of the 4 jack locations. Perhaps an airlock causes the pop and need to re-level?Posted: 5:24 PM – Feb 24, 2013I had to re-level maybe twice late summer through fall. I parked on new gravel and the gravel kept settling. But it’s so easy, this is a great system and I don’t remember any popping. Can’t wait till winter is over to begin spring traveling.Posted: 6:37 PM – Feb 24, 2013When we were making the decision to buy a new fiver or move over to a diesel MH one of the considerations was ease of set up. The Bigfoot system is outstanding. I upgraded our old system to the new panel with the key fob. Set up is a breeze: no snap pins, blocks under the low side pads and wheels, no cranking down rear jacks. Park, un hitch, press the auto level button. While the trailer self levels I connect the electric, hookup water and sewer. Step inside to run out the slides -done! Takes about 5-7 minutes. When hitching up it is great to have the key fob as you can raise or lower the rig from inside the truck. It is a real bonus when setting up in the rain.Posted: 7:32 PM – Feb 24, 2013rwb_wl wrote:I believe that Lippert uses one hydraulic fluid reservoir and one pump. What I meant was. lippert has a lot of complaints about the hydraulic jacks making a popping noise and you can feel the coach move and has to be re-leveled at times as it goes out of level. especially with heat and cold expansion and contraction through out the day.

Posted: 9:44 PM – Feb 24, 2013The only time we have to re-level ours, which is very infrequent is, if we are parked on grass and have had very heavy rain causing the ground to get muddy which makes us “sink” a bit. It isn’t that there is any problem with it sinking itself but it does cause ours to have interior movement, even with our stabilizers locked. Dutch just goes out and either re-levels the front and rear or just the rears and we’re back in business Hugs, Di.Posted: 5:43 AM – Feb 25, 2013I’m very happy with the Bigfoot on my 31KSLS. I will not have an RV without Bigfoot. We have been full timing for a little over two years and have never had to relevel.Posted: 1:18 PM – Feb 25, 2013Ditto on all the positive comments about Bigfoot. I’ve leveled my rig several times on some fairly unlevel sites and ended up with a wheel off the ground, and it wasn’t a problem. I’ve also used the Bigfoot system to raise the complete rig when I got tires replaced, it easily lifts the weight of the entire rig.Posted: 10:53 PM – Feb 25, 2013lillyputz wrote:How do you like the Quadra system? I find that when we are parked in the sun, the hydraulic system pops often when it heats up, and again when it cools down.
I’ve never had to re-level the trailer though. I’m guessing it’s just expansion of the fluid overcoming friction and making the jacks move a little.Been sat three months now and have had to loosen and re-tighten the stabilizers a couple of times to reduce movement, but we still seem level. Haven’t had to use the auto leveling system yet.

Our Bigfoot leveling system has been working great and we have not had to relevel.
What type of stabilizer does your Bigfoot System have?Nate

I have JT Strong Arms attached to BAL swing arm levelers at the back, and Plug-it-Rights bolted to the Bigfoots at the front.
Both work great.Interestingly, I bought the 2 rear Strong Arms through a merchandising store, I wanted to see if they worked OK. They did.
A few months later when I wanted to complete the set, I called JT Strong Arms to buy 4 more, they accused me of lying to them about only having 2 Strong Arms. They said that was impossible since they never split up a set of 6. The sales guy was really obnoxious, said they must be from one of their competitors. I said maybe so, but if so, why would they put JT labels on them if they were. He refused to believe me, and would not sell me only 4. I told him to go pound sand.I then called Di at Plug-it Right and got 4 for the front a few days later. Just as good, and they were cheaper too.

Do wish the new key fob “reconnect” feature actually brought the pin back to where it was when I unhitched (it’s always several inches high), but being able to raise/lower the system from inside the truck is excellent.
As for noise or needing to relevel, no on the first, and only when whatever the pads are sitting on shifts for the second.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted: 10:25 AM – Feb 27, 2013That shouldn’t be the case. We only have ours not come back to “hitch height” infrequently. If you call Quadra at 800-752 9815 and ask for Jim he should be able to walk you through to get you operating right. It used to be Rick but he now has a new position. If that doesn’t work for you, call me me at 941-416-0918 10 am to 10 pm 7 days a week & Dutch & I will see what we can do to get you back to where you should be. Hugs, Di
